10 Partner Workouts For Games Athletes

These are some of the workouts that CrossFit ASAP’s Games team used to get them ready for the CrossFit Games last year. They also did a lot of workouts with the worm but we know that a lot of people wont have access to a worm.

1. CLOSE TO ONE OF THE INDIVIDUAL EVENTS AT THE 17’ GAMES.

3 Min AMRAP
2 Legless Rope Climbs
20/15 Cal Ski *Max overhead squats 155/105
Partners switch each round. 10 RDs (5 each)

2. TEAMS OF 3

150 Wallballs 30/20
150 KB Swings 88/70
150 Cal Bike
EMOM 10/7 Burpees
If you only have 2 people cut out the EMOM and go straight through. Try for under 20:00!

3. TEAMS OF 2

10 Clean & Jerks
20 Front Squats
40 Cal Row
6 RDs
Start at 135/95 and add 20# each round
(Partners break reps up as desired)

4. STRAIGHT LUNGS!

Bike Cal
Straight into
10-20-30-40-50
Ski Cal
You do 50, I do 50, 40,40 etc. Rest while other partner is working. Sub rower for ski if not available.

5. TEAMS OF 2

150’ DB Lunge 70/55
60 TTB
Hold DB at your side for lunges

6. TEAMS OF 2

30 CTB Pull Ups

Simple but great workout.

4 Sandbag Cleans 150/100
10 Burpees
Partners switch each RD! This one was HARD!

50 Squat Cleans 225/155
50 Burpee Box Jump Overs 24/20
50 Muscle Ring Muscle Ups
50 Burpee Box Jump Overs 24/20

This was a grinder for sure. Last 50 squat cleans are just horrible and more mental than anything.

400m KB Farmers Carry 70s/53s
This one got grippy fast! Forearms and shoulders!

25 Rope Climbs

100 Shoulder To Overhead 185/125
Grab a partner and give them a try! Preferably someone close to your skill level. If you need to scale some of the workouts definitely do so. These were all pretty hard workouts and usually on the longer side. Its always more fun to do these grinding workouts with some friends to keep you motivated and having fun. That’s what the CrossFit community is all about!
