Choices

Every day we have the power to choose and make decisions. We have the power to choose what time we wake up. We have the power to choose our mood for the day. We have the power to choose the foods that we eat. We have the power to choose the content we consume. We have the power to choose the music that we listen to. We have the power to choose who and what we allocate our time to. And, We have the power to choose the perspective we have on our reality. We have been given choices.
These choices our powerful. They are powerful because you get to control how you want to live your daily life. They are powerful because you get to control how you prioritize your day. They are powerful because you get to control if you want to workout, or if you want to tell yourself you are to busy, or to tired to fit in fitness. They are powerful because you get to control whether or not you lay down and watch netflix, hulu, satellite tv, and other streaming services instead of playing with your children, or taking yourself to the gym. Lastly, they are powerful because you get to control how you view your situation, and how you can execute on your journey to health and happiness.
It is important to realize that we have the power to choose our attitudes, our perspective, how we treat others, and how we treat ourselves. It is important to realize these things because it gives us an opportunity to succeed. It gives us the opportunity to get up after our 50th burpee. It gives us the opportunity to positively reinforce ourselves to hold onto the bar for one more rep. It gives us the opportunity to genuinely listen to someone when they are speaking. It gives us the opportunity to make thoughtful decisions in our lives that make us happy, and proud of ourselves. Lastly, it gives us the opportunity to build the best version of ourselves every day. Some of these choices are choices that you can control. I hope they resonate with you as they are healthy choices that you should commit to every day.

Fitness has consumed the last 5 years of my life. It has been my choice to sleep on the ground in a gym to make my ambition a reality. It has been my choice to commute from gym to gym to network and provide value to the members that I have trained. It has been my choice to work on myself, and workout by myself in the middle of the night with nobody watching, nobody cheering me on, and nobody giving me a high five after a hard workout. It has been my choice to surround myself with positive people, and people that push me to be better. All of these choices have brought me, and us, to this moment. A moment in time, and a moment that may be the difference that allows you to make a healthy choice. If you really think about it, all we have is moments, and all we have is now. It is Monday morning, the start of a new week. You have already made choices… we get one life, be thoughtful about them.
